Is there a doctor in the house??

Huett got this doctor kit at babies-r-us after a big-boy visit to the doctor where he didn't cry at all. Ever since, they have been taking turns playing doctor/patient.
this is really meant for your ears but whatever works I guess...

then they use the thermometer to do the ears

and the shot to check the temperature.
this is the one thing they actually got right.

I guess I shouldn't sign them up for medical school just yet.

Watch the Belly!!!

Playtime can get a little rough but it sure is fun. These are some pictures of me and the boys wrestling while Mikey is behind the camera.

Something happened...who knows what...and the waterworks began.
bless his heart.
Sam's baby makes him feel so much better!

And just that quickly, whatever ruined his mood, turned it right back around and he is all smiles again.

one thing led to another...

One night last week while Mikey was up shooting basketball/throwing the football

and Huett and Sam were coloring on their dry-erase board, the topics converged

and the boys asked Mikey to help them draw which leads us to our next picture

and the drawings began. From baseballs, basketballs, and footballs

to trucks

to the first letters of our names

Sam was taking note...

Then Huett finished the session with a beautiful portrait of the sun. Stunning isn't it? Seriously, not bad for a 3 year old!
You just never know where playtime might take you around our house!

the few (captured) faces of Huett

If Sam is the "ham" of the fam, Huett is more like the turtle. He shies away from the camera. It's not that he doesn't have much personality, believe me, he does. I just need to be sneakier with my camera. I need to treat him like an animal and hide in his surroundings. I need to mimic a National Geographic photographer so that I can really catch him in his element. He is, after all, the originator and perfector of most of the faces that Sam is making in the post after this one. He taught Sam everything he knows. Every once in a while, I get lucky and catch a shot like this where he is dancing

or like this where he is really smiling big and not faking it.

but more often than not, this is as much as I can get out of him. It's allright for me b/c I get to see him do all of his silly things in person. Hopefully I can catch enough shots that he can look back and get a glimpse of what he was like as a pre-schooler!

The Many Faces of Ava Claire

One night last week, Mom kept Huett and Sam, and Mikey and I kept Ava. These were the silly pics from that night.

Talk to the foot!

droopy eyes

I'm not sure what you would call this, but she thought it was really funny when she was looking back through the pictures on the camera

Silliness personified.

Look at those baby blues. I mean they are crystal clear.

The many faces of Sam!

Sambo was really hamming it up for the cameras as he always does and these are some of his specific faces that he will make upon request.

This is his crying face. Look at his vampire fangs!

This is his big smile!

This is a face he makes when he is showing off his muscles

In this pic he had a mouthful of water

This is his Thomas the Train face/ good Grinch face. Grinch?? you say... My boys are very into the grinch. Both the Jim Carrey version and the cartoon versions. Apparently this is the face The Grinch makes when he turns nice at the end of the movies. And yes I know it is June but they insist on watching it in the car and so we've been watching for months.
